"Giving and Sharing"
Accelerated Action Day
December 5, 2008

The Giving and Sharing MODEL Teams season runs from November 3 to December 31. During that time, our next Ford Accelerated Action Day is Friday, December 5. A total of $80,000 in mini-grants will be given to 16 local nonprofit agencies that serve meals, host food depots or in some way nourish members of the community. To qualify for a mini-grant, the pre-selected nonprofit agencies must agree to host Ford MODEL Teams on December 5 at their agency. Projects hosted on that day will include: serving meals, sorting food, working in a food warehouse, hosting a holiday party, decorating a dining room or agency for the holidays, or working with clientele in an appropriate manner.

MODEL Teams of Ford Volunteers have supported 3 Accelerated Action Days already this year. These special days are geared for maximum impact on critical projects during each volunteer season. The results so far have been impressive and gratifying. Renovating shelters, painting schools, repairing children’s homes, beautifying and cleaning up the environment, each season brings a different reason to contribute to improving our communities. The season of Giving and Sharing will focus on our most basic need - nourishment. Feeding the hungry will be our focus on December 5. Ford employees in the U.S. are encouraged to view projects and register online through the new MODEL Teams system at www.volunteer.ford.com.

We are making the world a better place, person by person and community by community. We need your help on December 5. Let’s once again show our spirit, big hearts and the commitment of Ford employees and retirees to pitch in and make a difference in the world we share. Please register today. Click here

TO: All Ford Employees and Retirees

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all of the Ford volunteers who helped make our third annual Global Week of Caring a success. The energy, enthusiasm and kindness of our employee and retiree volunteers never ceases to amaze me as you give of yourselves for the greater good of our communities around the world.

You are the face of Ford in the communities where we live and work, and I can honestly and proudly say we have never looked better. Despite challenging economic conditions and a difficult vehicle market, more than 8,000 of you took time to step away from your daily life and contribute 25,000 hours to help make a difference in creating better, stronger communities.

A lot of good and needed work was done during Global Week of Caring 2008, including the following projects:

Repairs at an orphanage in Mexico Medical and dental services provided to people in India and the Philippines Renovations for a children’s home and school in South Africa Food and clothing collected for children in Canada Work on dozens of building projects in 17 states across the U.S. Our non-profit partners truly appreciate your dedication. They tell us consistently that Ford volunteers stand out because of their skill, organization and spirit. There are still many opportunities to do volunteer work in our communities. I encourage you to enlist in the Ford Volunteer Corps and get involved. Please visit us at www.volunteer.ford.com to join a MODEL Team and find a project near you. Working together, we can help make the world a better place.

Thank you,

Bill Ford
