Support Your MODEL Teams - MODEL Teams of the Season

Ford MODEL Teams are on a roll. For the past two years, the Ford Volunteer Corps has recognized an outstanding employee volunteer of the month. Now, since teamwork is such an important and fundamental part of the way we do business at Ford, we will recognize the outstanding volunteer work of one of the MODEL Teams each season. In addition to the four MODEL Teams of the Season, a fifth team will be selected to represent Global Week of Caring 2009.

The Ford Volunteer Corps divides the year of volunteer service into four seasons, each with an Accelerated Action Day. There is one more Accelerated Action Day scheduled for 2008 - December 5 - and four more next year:

• Children & Families - February/March - Accelerated Action Day – March 3, 2009
• Better World - May/June - Accelerated Action Day – May 15, 2009
• Community Building - August/September - Accelerated Action Day – Sept. 11, 2009
• Giving & Sharing - November/December - Accelerated Action Day – Dec. 1, 2009
• Global Week of Caring 2009 - September 5 – September 13, 2009

MODEL Teams of the Season will be selected from the Ford volunteers who participate on Accelerated Action Days and register through www.volunteer.ford.com . They will be selected through an evaluation criteria process by the Ford Volunteer Corps Advisory Council; a committee of representatives from many areas within Ford Motor Company.

Each MODEL Teams of the Season will be awarded a MODEL Teams certificate signed by Ford Motor Company Executive Chairman, William C. Ford, Jr., and a framed photograph of their MODEL Teams volunteering in the community. In April, during a National Volunteer Week celebration, Bill Ford will recognize the quarterly winners and participate in an awards ceremony.

The creation and launch of the MODEL Teams concept in 2008 is a success story for all Ford volunteers and our agency partners who are making a difference for people across the country. The warm feelings and appreciative smiles that come from helping those in need are always the best rewards for giving back to people in our local communities. MODEL Teams are getting the job done in shelters and schools, children’s homes and soup kitchens, parks and playgrounds.
